نویسندگان

چکیده

Background: Apart from its role in bone health, recent developments have shown that vitamin D also has anti-inflammatory properties, and therefore may a inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) children. Objectives: To determine the effect of supplementation on activity pediatric patients with IBD. Design: Random-effects meta-analysis Data Sources: Studies were searched at Cochrane Library, PubMed, EBSCO Host, ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, Wiley Online. Review Methods: Experimental studies measuring IBD included. The proportion activity, measured as remission rate or inactivity using Pediatric Crohn’s Disease Activity Index (PCDAI) Ulcerative Colitis (PUCAI), mean standard deviation serum [25(OH)D] level, change 25(OH)D, different markers [erythrocyte sedimentation (ESR) C-reactive protein (CRP)] extracted estimated recorded an abstraction form. Standardized difference odds ratio used summary measures Stata/Multiprocessor. Results: 25(OH)D (SMD = 1.75, z 2.33, p 0.001) 3.37, 2.34, 0.019) was significantly higher among those who received high dose D. However, heterogeneity (I2 >50%). For IBD, ESR –1.10, 5.35, lower high-dose likelihood standardized CRP not low-dose Conclusion: Cognizant functions enhancing intestinal flora balance, regulating immunologic response, improving mucosal barrier, can be recommended supplementary treatment for population. Nevertheless, there is still insufficient evidence cut-off level adequate levels thus necessitating further studies. Key words: Vitamin therapy, Inflammatory Bowel Disease, deficiency
